Cottage Deck and Window Installation

Project Brief:
Dayna and Charlie’s initial request was to replace the siding on their cottage to address an issue they were having with squirrels getting into the cottage through the existing cedar siding. While estimating the job, we noticed both the deck and windows (above the main level) were in need of replacing. So the scale of the project ballooned considerably. Advance Exteriors completed the siding replacement on the project with Longboard Soffit – a durable aluminum product with a wood finish.
The Final Product:
This project completely transformed and rejuvenated this beautiful cottage on Lake Winnipeg. Because the siding was being replaced, we gave Dayna and Charlie free rein to redesign the appearance of the cabin as it related the windows. That resulted in adjustments to the rough openings on over half of the 25 windows we replaced – along with a considerable amount of interior wall repairs. Tight timelines meant long hours and many days away from home. But it was all worth it for what turned out to be a stunning transformation.
Last summer we hired Carter & Sons to undertake a fairly large project at our cottage – replacing windows and siding and re-building our deck. We were so pleased with the final product! Carter & Sons was a pleasure to work with. Unlike other contractors and tradesmen we’ve dealt with, Carter & Sons showed up when they said they would; were clean and tidy during their work; and finished when they promised. We wouldn’t hesitate to use them again or to recommend them to our friends.
