Tiffany and Craig asked me to build a composite deck with cedar rail and pergola as part of their backyard overhaul. An enclosure for their pool equipment was also part of the project.
The Final Product:
This project presented a number of unique challenges. First and foremost, it was our first composite deck. We’ve built a number since, and I maintain that composite requires another level of precision (and time) relative to building with wood. The result is a very clean look that is maintenance free. The deck is a 750 square foot multi-tiered deck constructed over their previous, large, raised-concrete patio. The multiple tiers were built to flow with the natural grade in this gorgeous Fort Richmond backyard. This was also the first deck we completed that incorporates a built-in hot tub – a very cool feature, which completes the spa-like atmosphere. I was thrilled to be part of the amazing backyard transformation that Craig and Tiffany envisioned.
