Deck

Project Brief:

The neighbourhood where this deck was built is a very close-knit community in Norwood Flats.  The homeowner’s goal was to create a large area of functional, peaceful space to socialize and to also limit the amount of regular maintenance required in the backyard.

The Final Product:

We typically use a lot of angles to create unique, custom looks in the decks we build.  We mostly abandoned that on this deck and were thrilled with the result.  The square lines of the deck and steps brings balance to the angles in the house and beautiful flagstone patio.  A particular challenge here was the transition from the upper deck to the lower deck.  We didn’t want it to look out of place.  The “boardwalk” design accomplished just the right amount of style for what was a necessary functional component of the space.
